How It Works

Cometly tracks Facebook Ads by adding URL parameters to your ad links. When someone clicks your ad and lands on your site, the Cometly Pixel instantly starts tracking. It builds a profile on the anonymous visitor and registers that they came from your Facebook Ad.

If the visitor leaves and later returns to your site, the pixel will recognize them. When analyzing attribution models (like First Touch or Last Touch Source-Specific in the Cometly Ads Manager), you’ll see exactly which ad originally brought them in—giving you clear insights into ad performance.

What About Facebook & Instagram Ad Learning?
Updating your ad URL parameters will not reset the learning phase. Your ads will go into a short review but remain optimized. Meta considers significant edits (like changing creative, audience, or budget) as factors that reset learning—not URL parameter updates.
